The Duty Free shopping is at the waterfront in Down Town St. John's at Heritage Quay and Redcliffe Quay. These areas are charming and spacious with pleasant staff. Both Heritage and Redcliffe Quays are where the cruise ships dock in Antigua. The shops are modern a wide range of things to suite the shopper.

Nelson's Dock Yard

Nelson's Dockyard was named after the famous Admiral Horatio Nelson, is Antigua's famous and most prized historic possession. It is a wonderful and great monument with a past and is now a place of much activity. Nelson's Dockyard is the home of many yachts and many famous people.

 

Originally English Harbour was established to provide the British Royal Navy with a secure base from which to keep the Caribbean from the other European powers. Christopher Columbus did not stop in Antigua, but named it after Santa Maria de Antigua in Spain.
